Dance Moms is a reality TV show on Lifetime starring Abby Lee Miller, the owner of the Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh, PA. The show shows Abby teaching her students dance and pushing them (and their moms!) to their limit. Full of fights, tears, and talented kids, Dance Moms was voted the best new reality show on TV. It airs at 9:00 on Tuesdays on Lifetime. Season one shows Abby taking the girls (Maddie, Chloe, Brooke Paige, Nia, and Mackenzie) to competitions all across the country, even as far as Los Angeles and Arizona! But when a new girl (Vivi-Anne) suddenly joins their class, the moms (Christi, Melissa, Holly, and Kelly) are not happy. They start to feud with her trouble-making mom (Cathy).
Christi (Chloe's mom) feels that Abby always compares Chloe to 8-year-old Maddie (Melissa's daughter). Abby believes that Christi is just jealous of Maddie. Christi and Melissa argue the whole year about how Maddie always gets the attention. Chloe tries to prove herself to Abby, but at every competition she is always second to Maddie.
Season two just started in January. Abby has open auditions to replace Vivi-Anne (she quit and went to Candy Apples dance center in Ohio - her mom's studio). A lucky 8-year-old girl named Kendall replaces her in the group. Abby puts her on probation for a few weeks to see if she made the right decision by putting Kendall in the group. Kendall's mom, Jill, thinks she can buy her way to get her daughter to the top. Soon she finds out that doesn't always work. When she has an outburst at some of the other moms, right when Kendall is off of probation, Abby puts her back on. Season two, in my opinion, is even more crazy than season one! One of the members of the group quits halfway through and is replaced with a cocky 14-year-old, one dancer injures her hip at competition, and the moms are fighting more than ever.
It's the show you have to see to believe.
In my opinion, Dance Moms is the best reality show on TV because it is not fake. It is my favorite show, mostly because I'm a dancer myself and can relate to it.
Does anyone else here watch Dance Moms or heard of it?
